All 2 handed polearms are polearms, only 2 handed weapons are axes/maces/swords. Nothing beside the 3 I mentioned are counter as 2 handed. It improves based on weapon type and 1 handed spear is a polearm as polearm is 1 or 2 handed. It's same for thrown javelins in melee, they count as polearms too. Also its very cheap for some reason. It is tier 5 one handed backsword crafted by me because it is the best I've seen to use with shield. My favorite is a custom two handed axe that’s maxed reach for mowing mobs. Sledgehammer. Swinging is much better for overall damage output but some people just like the satisfaction of hitting with a couched lance. Custom weapons with specific parts will let you do both. 2H weapons can work on horseback but you need them to be very long.
