Feb 2024 • Family. We hiked the Balanced Rock trail when we visited Big Bend National Park. This is one of the most iconic places in the park. The drive out to the trailhead is on a dirt road. A high clearance vehicle is better for the road, but four wheel drive is not a necessity. We had a crossover SUV and it made it just fine.
