mikehallbackhoe. I have a puzzle , my xr100 has a 120 tb kit, aftermarket exhaust, elevation 2000 ft. with the stock 38 pilot jet, it ran best screwed all the way in, so I put a 35 pilot jet, same result. I put in a 32 pilot jet, and it runs good 1 turn out. why do I need such a small pilot jet?

I have played with advancing the ignition on my 98 XR100; perhaps a gain of 1 to 1.5 degrees available by opening up the mounting hole on the pickup, I found it not worth the effort on a stock engine. The exhaust has header wrap on it to keep the heat in and change the speed of sound. The spark plus is a smaller diameter because the valve are large. I am running a daytona coil and CDI for better combustion at the higher speeds. The bike runs an oil cooler, kitaco oil pump, dirtdigger clutch setup. Are you Team XR or Team TTR? I was able to replace a couple spokes by letting the air out of the tube so that I coule unscrew the nipple and push the nipple down into the rim enough to slide the spoke past it and pull the spoke out then reverse the procedure to get it back in.
